Perforation Repairs - Case 1

Please note the successful apical surgery done when amalgam was still in favour. Now the material of choice for retrograde sealing is MTA. There is a furcal lesion developed along the mesial root. This area is notorious for having very thin walls and should be avoided at all costs. A perforation is likely the cause.
The post is removed working through the microscope, the area is debrided, and disinfected with Sodium Hypochlorite. MTA is used liberally to seal the perforation.
One year later, the area is completely healed and the patient is asymptomatic, with normal probing depths.
