Calcified Canals - Case 1

This is a calcified canine that was previously started and the canal could not be located. These cases require microscopes to find the canals. Most of the time the canal can eventually be found. It requires a lot of time and patience, and luck always helps too. There is however significant risk involved, as the deeper we search for canals, the greater possibility of perforation.
This is the result we're after. Advanced calcification ahead of the normal ageing rate, should not be ignored or viewed as protective. It is calcific degeneration of the pulp, often leading to problems later.
